Most of you have returned to your offices after a fantastically successful SourceCon conference this week in Washington, D.C. We were so glad you could join us in person as well as online! By now, those of you who were attending in D.C. should have received an email from Scott Baxt with some information for an online survey to capture your thoughts on the speakers, the venue, and your general thoughts on the conference. As well, there is a phone line open for you to leave a voicemail message with your thoughts – call 34-SOURCER-1 and share your experience.
Additionally, we have scheduled a group conference call for anyone who would like to discuss the conference, their experience, and the speakers, as well as provide any suggestions to make the next SourceCon (which will be in New York City on Feb. 8-9, 2011) even better! Why are we providing so many feedback methods? Because we realize that not all of you like to write, and not all of you like to talk on the phone. We want to make sure to capture your SourceCon experience, because it is your feedback that enables us to make each event better than the last. I encourage you to use at least one of these feedback methods to communicate your experience with us in D.C.
Additionally, I would like to leave you with a couple of action items that Eric Jaquith, our amazing emcee, shared during the wrap-up on Wednesday:
- Put the information you learned this week immediately to use. The quicker you dive into the tools, techniques, and strategies that were provided by our wonderful speakers, the quicker you will start to see some results from your efforts and the less likely you will be to forget the material.
- Get active within the SourceCon community. There are many ways to do this:
- Subscribe to SourceCon News – read the articles and leave comments. The writers for SourceCon News are validated by your thoughts – whether you agree or disagree. Conversation and discussion are welcomed and encouraged!
- Contribute to SourceCon News by writing articles, doing podcasts, or making a video – we realize that not all of you enjoy writing, podcasting, or being in front of the camera. I personally would rather do just about anything than be on a video! So we encourage all forms of contribution and welcome your material for possible inclusion on the website. - Join the SourceCon LinkedIn group and Facebook page.
- Put February 8-9, 2011 on your calendar – this is when the next SourceCon conference will be happening in New York City. We’ve already got some speakers lined up (and they’re going to rock!) but we are currently accepting recommendations for speakers as well as presentation proposals if you personally are interested in presenting. Please email me with your recommendations and/or proposals. Additionally, bring your team members and industry colleagues back with you so they can experience the event too. Keep an eye on the website for information as it becomes available.
