Many of us may not be able to code, but as sourcers and recruiters, we talk about coding languages a lot. Even if we can’t code personally, it’s important for us to have a clear understanding of trends to avoid losing credibility with our clients and potential candidates. Today, CodeEval released most popular coding languages are for 2014. According to the company, “The data is based on thousands of data points the company has collected by processing over 100,000 coding tests and challenges for over 2,000 employers.”
The Top 3
Python remains in the number 1 spot this year, followed by Java and C++.

Notable changes since last year’s report include a 300% increase in Objective-C submissions, a 100% surge in C#, and a 33% increase in Javascript submissions. PHP submissions declined 55%, Pearl dropped 16%, and Java 14%.
