A new company will “revolutionize recruiting for the common good” by improving the candidate experience, courtesy of none other than Terry Terhark.
Yes, that name may ring a bell to folks who’ve been around this field for a while. He was the founder and president of the RPO called TheRightThing, which sold to ADP. Though fond of ADP he left there last summer. “At the end of the day I’m an entrepreneur,” he says.
The new project is called randrr. He’s self-funding it out of Findlay, Ohio, with developers in Jacksonville, Florida. While the company’s site has launched, the app won’t be done until later this year.
Details on the app are a little hard to come by. Terhark spent about nine months talking to people — thousands, he says — about what is and isn’t working when it comes to the job-search process. He likes a technology or two that’s out there now, including LinkedIn, but is alarmed at the lack of transparency in the job-hunt process. As an example, depending on the job site, candidates usually don’t know which employers have viewed their profile or their resume.

Randrr will “allow the candidate to own the candidate experience,” Terhark says; “a level of transparency and data that doesn’t exist now.”
Expect candidates to know who’s viewing them; how their skills rank to others in their geography; and generally how marketable they are — the chances they’ll actually get a given job.
