The 76,000-employee pharma/health/medical company McKesson has launched a new career site, and among other features is a link to the Glassdoor reviews about the company, more prominent than you see on most career sites.

A brief history here: About four years ago McKesson went with a TMP TalentBrew site, but ended up wanting something more responsive for non-desktop users. So, after that, TMP built out a more responsive career site, and McKesson paired that with an “apply” process from Jibe and later Taleo.

Now, this new launch is a move toward McKesson’s own content-management system, one it can update quickly in house. The company started talking about building the site in September, and used a team of internal developers, talent-acquisition communications, overall company communications people, and Cindy McGregor, who manages employer brand and digital marketing.

In addition to the prominent Glassdoor info, the new site includes a link to a blog, one that McGregor says will eventually link to content about careers at McKesson, not just healthcare material.

McKesson’s previous site, she says, included “a lot of content about who we were, but the employee value proposition was lost.” Now, the “Jack” video you see when you scroll down on the site offers essentially a summary of what McKesson is all about: better health.

Also, she says, the new site makes more clear that McKesson has a lot of call-center, non-exempt jobs.

McGregor says the company “didn’t build this site to win awards or anything.” Instead, it made it to help people learn more about a Fortune 5 company they may have barely heard of, and to do it authentically. “But there’s more to come,” she says, of the coming phase 2.
