Hilton_Residence_High_TwoBedLivingroom_FPHilton’s launching “Careers@Hilton Live: Youth in Hospitality Month” — a month of 600 events in 54 countries to tell people, especially young ones, about the hospitality field.

Corporate offices as well as hotels are involved. The events include a job mentorship program in Nigeria; bakery-management instruction for boys in Columbia; resume assistance for college students in Chicago and interview preparation in Dallas; career advice for Russian students; a panel of industry speakers in Singapore; job shadowing in Turkey; and training in the hospitality industry at the DoubleTree in China.

The hospitality-month events are part of what Hilton calls its “Open Doors” project that it says will “open doors” to a million young people by 2019, partly through jobs and mentorships.

The Hilton careers website that launched last summer also includes a “career concierge” where Hilton employees take questions about the hospitality industry, curate them, and post some. Hilton also takes questions on Twitter at #CareersatHiltonLive.
