Where There’s a Napkin, There’s an HR/Recruiting Startup

iinview logo-betaBig human resources and recruiting technology companies are launching new little products, and new little companies are launching big plans. All you need are an idea and a napkin.

Some of what’s new, or that you just may not have heard of yet:

  • iinView began on a napkin, after a recruiting conference in Dallas. Explained here, the startup wants to streamline the hiring process for both employers and candidates. It developed three short video interviews for candidates, as well as what it calls a “perfect resume.” The company, currently in beta, has six employees, including two “Web guys,” the company says, three partners, and a CFO.
  • Opprtunity (no, that’s not a typo; well, OK, it’s a typo, but it’s their chosen typo) is a new site for sourcing. It scans for job candidates who match what you want — like a certain skill — and sends them to your email box, phone, etc. The FAQs are here.
  • Screen Shot 2014-05-09 at 11.19.20 AMMonster has launched the job-seeker site “Project You.” It’s an interactive site for candidates to learn more about themselves, with links to Monster job searches, Monster blog posts, and Facebook searches of your connections (with the site explaining that “sociological research shows that you’re more likely to find work through a casual acquaintance than through close friends and family”).
  • In case you missed it, Workday more officially launched its recruiting system. (We’ve mentioned this through the months … that Workday was moving into recruiting technology, Barron’s bullishness, and that this week was the more official launch.) I just got off the phone with another big HR technology systems supplier which is about to announce an applicant tracking system launch. I’m also in touch with an early-stage recruiting-technology startup; stay tuned to these pages for future posts.
