Search Association Has New Prez, New Look, Broader View

The National Association of Personnel Services, better known as NAPS, has a new address, a new look, and an overhauled website.

NAPS is still NAPS, but it’s sleek new logo sports a modern look with a “360” in a swirl, and the tagline “Your recruiting community.” The updated website is more compact, using dropdown menus making it easier to navigate. More of the content, however, is password protected; membership in NAPS is required to access most of the  content in the new “Community” section.

The addition of the 360 is meant to represent the industry trend toward a broader range of service offerings than just search, with temp staffing by far the most common, though hardly the only, addition to search firms’ business lines.

“NAPS members are increasingly offering blended/complete services,” says the announcement of the changes. The new address for the site is NAPS360.org.

The announcement explained the new website and modernized logo were developed  “in order to better serve its community and to immediately convey its value proposition for our industry stakeholders.”

NAPS Chairman Joe Madden said the tagline, “Represents a ‘home’ for staffing and recruiting professionals as well as communicates a platform for engaged and active dialogue to cooperatively impact industry growth.”

The former site, RecruitingLife.com, is now accessible only to members and will become the certification testing center.

The changes came not three months after the organization named Trinette Cunningham as its new president. (The title is the equivalent of other organizations’ CEO or Executive Director.)

Cunningham is founder and CEO of  TR2 Consulting, which provides event marketing, financial management, and membership development services to non-profits, government, and for-profit companies. From 1998-2004 she was executive director of the Corporate Event Marketing Association, a trade association for event marketers.

“I joined the NAPS organization because I believe that our vision and mission to connect, serve, protect, inform and represent all facets of the professional staffing industry is just getting started,” said Cunningham.

She is the second NAPS president in a year, succeeding Susan Peters Carleson who resigned due to personal reasons barely a month after being named to the job. In the interim,  John Sacerdote, who had announced his retirement last year, continued to serve.

When Cunningham’s appointment was announced, Sacerdote said, “I am thrilled to pass the torch to Trinette, who I know to be talented and thoughtful. She was the unanimous choice of the NAPS team. While I will continue a very active role at the Association, I enthusiastically welcome Trinette as our new leader.”
