OK, from the recruiting technology world, first I’ve got a few items that are probably new to you, and then I’ve culled through some recent news to point out some things you may have missed that I think are important. Here goes.
- Privy is a monitoring tool for candidate profiles that is about to launch. Read about it here.
- A new employee relocation company called Move Guides just raised $15.6 million to help companies manage employee relocation better. Via Techcrunch.
- Digi-Me and Boxwood are teaming up on a new video product by digitizing job postings into trackable, short, engaging videos with compelling calls-to-action and dropping them directly into an employer’s applicant tracking system.
And, from the may-have-missed department:
- Hackajob was recently featured on VentureBeat. Hackajob’s a UK-based company that lets you test yourself against other developers and those results go onto a leaderboard for recruiters to review.
- Based in Chicago, Yello (its new name), the recruiting platform/enterprise recruiting platform, picked up a $5 million dollar investment from The Argentum Group. The new funding will be used to strengthen sales, marketing, and engineering efforts in the U.S. and beyond.
- Craigslist has raised prices on job postings in certain markets. Some cities like New York went from $25 to $45 while others like Phoenix were raised to $35. Read more about it here.
- CareerBuilder, in case you missed it, launched something that it seems like will be a time-saver. The launch of the Talentstream Sourcing Platform enables recruiters to search candidates across their internal applicant tracking software, external job boards, and professional networking databases through one interface.
- Then there was Connectifier’s raising of $6 million in a new round of funding. The company essentially is a “people scraper” that crawls the pages of social networks and other sites that post public information in order to build people profiles using an algorithms. It claims about 330 million profiles so far.
- Linkedin announced the next generation of its Recruiter product and the accolades were many. Not sure if the same can be said for its recently refreshed Inbox and Group changes.
- Phenom People raises 6 million. A startup out of the Philly area, it has some heavy hitters on the board. Rudy Karsan, the co-founder of Kenexa and Head of Karlani Capital, has joined the Phenom People board of directors.
