Stryker’s New Careers Site is First in a Decade

Its careers site not having changed dramatically in about 10 years, Fortune 500 medical technology firm Stryker is live with a mobile-friendly, more candidate-friendly relaunch.

It took about six months to put the site together, talent acquisition leader Jeff Batuhan tells me. It could’ve gone a little more quickly, but Stryker wanted to test it heavily and make sure the links and all else worked for candidates.

The site first launched internally. Stryker’s been telling employees that the site isn’t radically different, but will result in happier job candidates, with a better search, on multiple devices, and fresher content.

“While mobile wasn’t terrible,” Batuhan says of the last site, “it was not very good.”

Next Stryker will be spreading the word externally, such as to candidates on social media.

I’ve taken some screenshots of the new site, with some notes, below.

I thought this was an interesting PDF, which you can find if you navigate from the careers main page to the "why work at Stryker" page and then you scroll down.

Stryker's working on sites for a variety of regions. About 20 percent of the content on those sites will be unique to that area. Planned for this year: Germany, France, elsewhere in Europe, Latin America, and Greater China. The "talent network" you see is a CareerBuilder thing; CB also helped Stryker build this new website. This "why work at Stryker part links to the company's value proposition, which didn't change a whole lot with this redesign. Lastly, you can you can view, search, and apply via mobile devices. Check out the sentence in bold. That's what Stryker sees as its mission. I've taken this screenshot from the careers main page, just scrolling down a tad.
