Twelve days into 2016 and it’s feeling a little like … 2015, the conclusion of which brought us new funding to RallyPoint, ProSky, and WorkFusion, among others.

A sample of what I’m hearing about recruiting technology startups and others:

  • SmashFly has raised $22 Million, led by Bessemer Venture Partners. OpenView Venture Partners also participated in the round of funding for SmashFly, which’ll open an office in Boston. Bessemer has also invested in LinkedIn and Cornerstone OnDemand. SmashFly Founder/CEO Michael Hennessy tells me that it’s about as large a Series B as there’s been for a recruiting-technology company. “Recruitment marketing is here to stay and it’s only going to grow in the coming years,” he says.
  • Talent Rover picked up a couple million, too.
  • Jobvite has hired a new CFO, Peter Maloney. For CEO Dan Finnigan, Maloney’s arrival’s a big deal. At a past job at E2Open, Maloney was involved in IPOs and acquisitions. At another job, at SNOCAP, he was involved in a company sale. At Keynote Systems, he was involved in 11 acquisitions.
  • Lever (who I also mentioned here) is thinking of starting a customer conference in 2016, something a growing number of technology companies have done in the last couple of years. Watch for SmashFly to do the same, late this year.
  • Comrisecomrise is launching a tool to store, search, and analyze resumes (see graphic). Though some very large companies have been testing it, Comrise actually envisions the product being mainly used by companies who don’t hire enough people to warrant buying an applicant tracking system.
  • New, for casino recruiting.
  • Since December 1, Switch has added more than 200 new companies, including the NBA, Citigroup, NBC Universal, and Tesla.
  • One veteran talent-acquisition leader told me he’s a fan of gr8 People, feeling that it’s more customer-friendly and willing to adapt than some other of the new talent acquisition systems.
