In early 2008, General Mills, one of the world's leading food companies, embarked on an initiative to bring sales in house and establish a direct connection to customers in the foodservice and bakeries channels. Along the way, the company needed to ensure that it could acquire the sales talent needed to bring that strategy to life. Working with a trusted partner, General Mills created a talent initiative that optimized candidate quality, streamlined recruiting operations, and delivered the talent needed for change. Based on the success of the initiative, the company later embarked on a new Phase II effort at reaching new talent.
In this presentation, Robin Ritter of General Mills and Kristy Sidlar of Futurestep will draw lessons from the initiative and provide insight to help you address key questions that drive the success of a challenging talent acquisition effort. In addition, they will explore the challenges of sustaining initial success, what they learned, and how they addressed those challenges to ensure a successful phase two.
What does it take to change course and focus on new types of talent? Where are the opportunities for tightening up recruiting processes to support tight timelines without sacrificing quality? How do you build the support you need to sustain a process that entails a change in talent operations? Whether you work with a trusted partner or drive talent acquisition in-house, this session will provide insight that can help you tackle difficult challenges to meet even the most ambitious recruiting goals.
