Over at the Maclean's Blogs, they've included a career advice post by Kate Lorenz at Career Builder.ca. Lorenz has ten pieces of wisdom for job seekers and those who want to keep their jobs in what, Lorenz says, is a "fierce market."
How important are relationships with recruiters? It's number 4 on Lorenz's list.
"Develop an ongoing relationship with a qualified recruiter with whom you feel comfortable," says Lorenz. "Being included in a database isn’t enough. Your goal is to become the candidate of choice for that hidden job opening."
Number 4 isn't a bad place for recruiters to be. Especially when it comes after achieving excellence in one's field, establishing your own brand and networking in real life and via social networking sites.
