Poker is still Golf 2.0 - but Davis will not win again.

posted by
Ethan Bloomfield (69)

ERE Fall is coming up soon in Washington D.C. I'll leave the discussions about the conference itself to everyone else for now - what I want to discuss is the now annual Charity Poker Tournament (supporting the ERE Foundation). This event is a fun way for sponsors/vendors to get together, compete and do so in honor of children and education .

As you may know Jason Davis has won this event for the past two years - edging out Neal Bruce from Monster both times (I think). Well this year is going to be different.

I have been in training - working hard to master the skill - watching lots of ESPN2 reruns of the World Series of Poker - I even played in a qualifier for the WSOP in Vegas. I am ready.

Davis is not going to walk out a three time winner this year...he will lose!

Now, I have to get back to training – but keep watching for updates on the ERE Charity Poker Event.

Home Field Advantage
posted 8/28/2007 at 6:45 a.m. PT by Ben Gotkin

I'm banking on my home field advantage to carry me to victory at the tourney. Don't have a ton of experience, but I've been practicing too. Watch out for the rookie from DC!

Just Because!!

You know Ethan, I was not going to enter this year because I wanted the likes of you to have a chance but this here post you put up changes everything. Just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in.

It is on....

Glad to here that - because winning this year, without beating you, wouldn't be as much fun. Do you watch the WSOP? How many players have won three times in a row? Um......none. How many famous pros won in the main event this year? Um....none.

Will you win this year? Um...nope.

BTW - I heard Gerry Crispin is offering a bonus to anyone who takes out Jason Davis. Gerry- small unmarked bills please.

Heads up format will save time

Ethan - You better hope that I don't enter, because if I do, we should just save ourselves 3 hours and set up a heads up table for me and Jason Davis.

Buckle up, hold on, and See you all in D.C.

:)

Sounds like Neal Bruce from Monster is a little scared....

How do I know you are scared?

1. "better hope that I don't enter" - you already backing out of the event? Wow - that is fear.

2. heads up with Davis? Of course you want to play heads up with Davis - thats because he wouldn't have to play me.

You'll play - because second place ain't bad.

See you there!

I am in

Yes Ethan, I am shaking, not in fear, but because I am laughing so hard.

Hope all that TV watching pays off for you.

It's coming together

He knows not to mess with me. I think we need someone from Careerbuilder - Matt Martone from Yahoo! HotJobs was there last year (and we should check with him too), Neal from Monster of course - but Careerbuilder was absent - perhaps they fear us too?

i already won...
