Salary.com IPO / John hits the jackpot

posted by
David Manaster (212)

Tucked away at the bottom of yesterday's Electronic Recruiting News, John Sumser includes an uncharacteristically modest note about his position on the board of Salary.com, which IPOed today.

The IPO was a big success - initially price in the range of $8 - $10 per share, the offering actually went out at $10.50.  As I write this, it is trading at $12.35.

By my calculation (based on Salary.com's prospectus), John walked away with shares now worth more than a cool half million.

Not too shabby!

I love this - when a company in the Human Capital space goes public, it helps validate the industry and paves the way for other companies to follow in its footsteps.

Congatulations to John & all involved with the IPO!

He may not be able to drop those lovlies to the public for awhile...but Salary.com is a good company so they still should hold for half a year or however long it may be....
