HotJobs hiring on... Craigslist?

posted by
David Manaster (212)

This morning, Ziff Davis' Donna Bogatin posted on her blog that HotJobs is using Craig's List to recruit sales people.

Yahoo job on Craig's List

From a recruiting point of view - there is no story here. You cast a wide net to find the best candidates, and Craig's List is especially good at finding the sales people and recent college graduates that HotJobs is looking for.

From a PR perspective, it's an embarrassing slip-up for the Yahoo! team - an implicit acknowledgment that their own job board may not be generating enough candidates to staff their own company.

There was a similar situation involving with Monster a while back, too, but can't recall the details. Anyone else remember?

The similar situation with Monster is that Careerbuilder posts on Monster all the time under the name Jablow and Associates. Ben Jablow runs their recruiting unit called Rightfish I think. It used to be called something else.
