I suspect that when Jeff Hunter is speaking about all the same old, same old articles that he reads, he is referring at least in part to ERE.  That would be a shame, because over the years ERE has given a platform for many of the "chess club" members that he speaks of to be heard in our industry.

Be that as it may, Jeff is really, really sharp, and he will be hosting a Talent Unconference on January 25th, 2007 – a free, open forum for recruiting professionals who are there to teach as well as learn – at Electronic Arts.

ERE runs several of the largest paid events in the recruiting industry, so I think that there will be some surprise out there that I am a wholehearted supporter of this experiment.  The mission of ERE is to facilitate innovation and discussion in our profession, and Jeff is trying something new. 

I love it.
