Since recruiting is all about developing relationships, here's another New Yorker who recruiters should know about. My friend Sue Williams is running this year's New York Marathon for Team Continuum whose collective goal is to raise funds to provide immediate help to cancer patients being treated in New York's cancer treatment centers.
Although Team Continuum is a localized organization, not many people realize that over 50% of the cancer patients being treated in New York are either from out of state or from overseas. That’s not surprising when you realize that New York probably has the finest treatment facilities in the world, in some instances providing life saving treatments that people can’t get anywhere else.
Our mission, by its very nature, extends far and wide, for example: in early July a story was published in a national newspaper in Australia about a little Australian boy in New York that Team Continuum has been helping. Or the breast cancer patient in south Florida, that we extended help to when she had nobody else to turn to, or on the island of Jamaica, where there are terrible stories of unnecessary cancer related deaths. If we are asked for assistance, we do our very best to be there when asked.
We try to serve the cancer patient community wherever they may be, and with whatever help they may need. We are not about laboratory research; we are about helping cancer patients here and now. The donations you make go to provide immediate help for cancer patients that most need it. Whether that be with direct assistance or by funding patient programs in the hospitals that we serve. Over 97% of every dollar donated goes to where it was intended by the donor. Cancer Patient Care and Services.
If you'd like to donate - and yes, Mark Israel deserves your financial support too - please click here - under "Select an athlete to sponsor" choose Sue Williams...believe me, those $10 donations add up quickly. Above all, remember that runners make excellent employees and ambassadors of goodwill and networkers.
