Yes, Bittan, CEO of a company called Owner Listens, deliberately puts candidates in a position where they’re at odds with someone, just to see how they handle it.

Bittan and I talk about this in the video below. We also tackle why Silicon Valley seems to hire the young, and why she is more open to older workers.

    Interesting and good. As an applicant, I would have a hard time determining in the interview if the wanted to argue with me to hear a differing opinion (without negative consequences) or they were arguing with me because they were arrogant jerks trying to prove how powerful they are.
    As they said on “Breaking Bad” a few weeks ago:
    Hank Schrader: “I don’t even know who I’m talking to.”
    Walter White: “If that’s the case. That you don’t know who I am. Maybe your best course, would be to tread lightly.”
