ISTM that any work environment that expects one or the other parent to work very long hours to successfully meet the deliverables isn&#039;t particularly family-friendly, and since it&#039;s still considered that in most cases the primary care-giver is mainly the woman, that impact largely falls on them. If we want people to work long and hard, establishing quality, affordable, accessible child-care (perhaps in conjunction with schools for school-age kids) with  hours going from 6:00 AM-8:00 PM would go a long way toward this. Most couples can&#039;t afford nannies or have available grandparents/relatives to take care of kids.
