@John...I highly agree with your article...A talent must be now all-rounder that can be easily molded the changing times. With increased competition and globalization, companies are finding it more challenging than ever to find the right talent.Companies must improve how they apply people, processes and technology to acquire critical talent.

New work styles: Telecommuting, independent contractor status, portfolio jobs - yes definitely

Synergies: More and more work is hard to describe and multifunctional - Yes, "High Powered Generalist" with multiple disciplines where they are highly knowledgeable and the knowledge overlaps.

The niche editor is the new power broker - information overload driving people to read more of what is pertinent to them, leading them to their niche....and its editor. Yes.

Mobile: Sourcing is a mobile business - Big Yes, I didn't coin the concept, but yes.

CRM: Recruiting workflow is about maintaining relationships; plucking the fruit out of the orchard -
YES! and might I be so bold as to add Sourcing is not dead.

Lean - Yes, and so easy to make the case for the CRM/pipelining scenario...easy to pick the fruit long after the field was planted.

I think we will see more people evolving into clusters of sub-specialties that overlap in order to cope at the highest levels with the decisions they will be responsible for. IE - Workforce Planning + CRM + Sourcing Pipelining skillset for example. Things that go together or overlap.

My two cents.
