I think this is the first thing in awhile I've agreed with Dr. Sullivan on. Recruiters everywhere need to be recognized more, both by candidates & new hires as well as hiring authorities. Whether you're corporate or third party, the work we do in the trenches day-in and day-out is a grueling melange of a rollercoaster ride at times. Thank you for a good read and bravo on the topic! I absolutely agree with John Hughes (I believe we've exchanged cordialities once) that appreciation, recognition and advancement needs to be top down from the C-level. Amen to that. Merry Christmas everyone and God bless.

It has been an especially tough year for corporate recruiters and search professionals. It reminds me of how important it will be in the future to work more closely together as a total recruiting community. We will need to advocate for our profession more aggressively than ever. We will also need to consider potentially dramatic changes in order to grow our credibility. Please watch for the Recruiter's Guild to launch in the early part of the year. This group will be a staunch advocate for all Recruiters regardless of whether you are a member or not. We will actively campaign c-level leadership in order to advance our industry.

Mr. John,
Thank you for your message. There are times that we each just need to feel that we are not alone. While there are people surround us in our everyday "living" you have managed to add that special "spice" to our life.
A vanilla cookie is just a vanilla cookie, when you add other ingredents such as chocolate chips, nuts, and or pepperment chips your have a completely different taste.
Thank you for sending us your wish to have a Merry Christmas and Thanks you for adding that "other" spice needed for many of us to enjoy who and what we are.
We are the "and" in life not the "or" we are inclusive not dividers. We build companies. We make them better by providing them with that extra "spice" to their companies by providing people that fit and people who are gifted in their fields.
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night..."

How refreshing! Although after reading that it makes me feel like I should be sending them out to my customers for putting up with HR processes!
