It's official: Taleo is now the Monster of the talent acquisition & recruiting software business. I can't help but wonder how this benefits the end users.

John
Tempworks competes with Taleo so you are free to take this with a grain of salt, but your write-up hardly reflects the warts-and-all coverage we've come to expect from you.

Taleo may very well be doing much better than they were last November - the stock price certainly speaks for itself - but financially there is much more residue from the Vurv acquisition than the $2 million loss you mention.

For example, if one accepts your analysis that "the Vurv acquisition continues to be a drain" then the $92 million Taleo carries as 'Goodwill' on its balance sheet would be more accurately reflected as an expense.

You tout Taleo's "still-to-come mobile" capabilities but users live in a world of right now, and several competing systems have had mobile functions for years.

I do applaud you covering mobile in the job space. It will be interesting to see how AJAX enabled mobile job apps fair against native i-phone/android ones.
