Recently I joined this company as contract recruiter. It's a very new company without a well defined organization chart, policies..etc. The recruitment activity goes slow, because so many people rejecting offers. Major reason is they don't see future career development within this team, a very flat organization chart. I have raised the issue to related management, yet nobody come to me to solve this. My manager always gets back to me with more questions whenever she was expected to provide solution or guidance. How to build an efficient communication between recruiter and hiring panel without being stopped by bureaucracy?? I am hired to do recruit people not to provide consultancy from policy, flow, sop and so on.. right?

If you're in Canada, the best place to go to be a contract recruiter is Head2Head. Yes, that's a bit of shameless promotion - because I work with Head2Head - but they actually place more contract recruiters than anyone else in Canada and can really help you get a foot in the door.

I have been a contract recruiter since 1989, have seen the ebbs and flows of the market and feel that there will be a dramatic change in the way companies position HR.

Recruiters, like other employees must learn to manage their careers more efficiently. They must harness current technology in order to exploit it, understand the strength of branding, work more closely with the business, and become adept at reporting.

While outsourcing isn't for every firm, some firms simply prefer in house recruitment, there are benefits as stated by Mr. Wheeler.

We offer contract recruiters, but as of this year the service has been extremely slow. Companies (HR) have been asking more for Name Generation services to help them find candidates, because they feel if they have the sourced information they can do the rest of the recruiting process.

My best advice is to find a staffing agency who handles HR Contract Recruiters. There are several out there, but you have to find them. They find the client, write the actual contract between you and the employer, take care of your pay and your part/responsibility will be to interview and wow them. Once you start making a name for yourself, the staffing firm will continue to hire you, and/or others will get to hear about your abilities. I have 12 years of experience as a Contract Recruiter..........and this is the only way to really get started. You have got to build the clientelle and do a great job and then the word of mouth in your area will spread.
