I couldn't agree more - as long as a company can budget it. With the current state of the economy & the "job market", we have a talent pool that is more educated & experienced than any other time, at least in my history. : )

Right now companies should be thinking about the opportunities available - in improving upon their current staff as well. I have figured out some great ways for companies to capitalize on this...I'd love to "point someone in the right direction," if anyone is interested. Email me at jbach@adclub.com for more info.

Great article. You’re right on about how companies need to continue to gain interest from prospective employees and continue to brand themselves. Not surprisingly, we’re seeing a lot of companies who want to pipeline via social networking. And this is the perfect time to start exploring those options: There is more time available to recruiters now that there are fewer requisitions to fill, and the nominal costs involved in social networking make it a viable option for budgets reflective of the current economy. NAS Recruitment has come out with a Social Networking Boot Camp for recruiters who want to better understand the opportunities and proper uses of social networking for recruitment purposes. (If anyone’s interested in learning more, drop me a note at cslomski@nasrecruitment.com or through the ERE Community.)
