For the past three years, the ERE Foundation has been raising money through a variety of efforts including a silent auction at our annual Fall ERE Expo, and several poker tournaments throughout the year.
The Foundation was established under the mission to support education and literacy programs that provide underprivileged young people with the skills they need for future careers all over the world. Yesterday, as ERE Expo 2009 Spring came to a close in San Diego, our board member Gerry Crispin made a special announcement that this year, the ERE Foundation would be donating $50,000 to the Central Asia Institute, an organization which promotes and supports community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
None of this would have been possible without the help of several people; ERE Foundation board members Gerry Crispin & Kate Bruener, Dick Gast for organizing and running the annual silent auction, Monster for sponsoring the silent auction and matching the auction donations dollar for dollar ($6,150), Jason Davis for organizing the poker tournaments, and JobTarget for sponsoring the poker tournaments.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone in the recruiting community that participated in our fundraising events and gave so generously — you’ve all made this possible.
