Another great article on a timely, I'm sorry I neglected to congratulate you in person while at the ERE Expo. At SmartSearch ATS, we've been getting a lot of interest in our Vendor Management System (VMS-Smart) add-on module from corporate employers as well as staffing agencies looking to develop business as Managed Services Providers. So we see this as a hot growth area.

The largest user of the VMS-Smart hired 15,000+ contingent (seasonal) workers in '08; I've got a case study in progress. Your article hits on all of the key elements for success.

The only thing I would add is that many staffing agencies see the VMS portal as a "brick wall" so from the third-party recruiter POV, many of the VMS solutions don't do a great job communicating to vendors or make it easy to "peel" jobs posted on the vendor portal. This is an area that could use some technology & process improvement.
