Great piece.
So many of us have been preaching greater involvement of and with the hiring managers but not providing the tools or expertise in how to do this.  Hiring managers are most often made managers for their subject matter, not for their people skills.  Our expertise is people and we need to find ways to work more closely with the managers moving forward.  Social networks are just one of the ways to get, and stay, closer to the managers we support and who rely on us to function as an integral part of the team.
