Great article, Kevin.

Certainly, we do face a significant shortage of qualified workers due to exiting Baby Boomers and scarcity of skilled younger workers. The AARP and others, however, report that 79% of Baby Boomers say that they don't plan to stop working entirely at age 65. Thus, these 'working retired' can be a significant source of qualified workers, but not in the traditional role of full time 'permanent' employees.

I would think that Social Networking would be a source to tap into these working retired individuals (at least those that are 'internet savvy.') Are there other methods for obtaining these workers? For example, are there recruiting firms that specialize in placing the older worker? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, Kevin, for linking to Recruiting-Online.com's long-standing directory of recruiter networks in your 3/13/08 ERE daily column. Much as you mentioned with Shally's JobMachine.net site, there's a lot more besides that page for tapping social networks on Recruiting-Online.com
