		<description>As a sometimes hiring manager who is now looking for  a job I agree with Keith. I have seen several Websites that have great features but then do something to leaves me less than thrilled about the company or the job or both.

IMHO, corporate job websites should be high-profile, appealing, and intuitively easy to use. At the same time, I believe that organizations should operate under the belief that no one they WANT to hire will be recruited through the website, and that everyone who is actually hired will need to be sourced. While this is unlikely to be 100% correct, operating under this presumption will allow devoting more resources toward active as opposed to passive recruiting.

		<description>Great article Kevin, and it is something that is absolutely spot on with UK Clients. My biggest complaint is that there seems to be a continual battle, between the business and marketing, when it comes to corporate website design. The business want to attract people to the company, but marketing are reluctant to 'give up' the prime spaces on the homepage because they 'don't make money' the same way product or service advertising does. So there has to be a compromise, and that always seems to place the links to the job pages/ career site on the bottom of the home page. Or even worse off the home page altogether in the 'about us' section. So why are these marketing people being so short sighted? targets and bonuses spring to mind!!</description>
