Great article. However, I would be interested to hear how many people have been sourcing this way for years. I'm betting many - especially those of us who came out of consumer marketing/ business, and those of us who have launched/ grown high-end talent businesses. When your model is business, you tend to see all aspects of talent acquisition from a business model perspective. I've been applying business principles including strategic planning, sales management techniques, continuous improvement, marketing and business communications techniques to talent management for over 20 years; in fact my business is based on it. Only the language has changed over the years. Spreading a good business model to more people in talent acquisition/ recruiting is a GREAT thing. My only fear is that some well-meaning consultants with minimal knowledge of how to do it right will grab onto the jargon and undermine the credibility of what should be a high-quality business model that works for everyone - in corporations and those of us who partner with them.

All great, innovative ways of attracting the attention of 'active job seekers' but lets not forget that the true talent lies in those who aren't googling for a new gig. Focus needs to be, and should be, on the googling your perfect candidate likely does.........getting your opportunity to result as a result is huge and will always capture attention.
