Amid the bustle of Times Square on Tuesday, the video-savvy folks behind CareerTV.com were bringing the concept of employment branding to the masses.

The Times Square launch, which featured college students and others recording their personalized online video resumes, was held to spotlight employer branding as a recruiting hot topic.

The company says its site is designed to help college students and young professionals develop “long-lasting, successful careers” within the world’s top companies. In 2008, the company says it hopes to launch a CareerTV cable station in addition to its current employer branding video library offerings (think Google, L’Oreal, Disney).

Prior to the live event in New York, Claudia Tattanelli, CEO of Universum USA, discussed best practices in leading the new wave of tech-savvy recruitment. In addition, the company hosted an employer panel about recruiting through digital media, featuring representatives from the Peace Corps, Ernst & Young, Osram Sylvania, and others.
