I love Ning (for those of you that don't know, Ning is a social networking platform where anyone can create a network, one of which is the recruiting network you mention).

I think it has some great potential, although it's still in an early adopter stage and isn't nearly as big as the others mentioned above. I do wonder how individuals will be incented to keep up with their networks and keep bringing out new functionality, although money could be a motivator if Ning could help the operators of each network profit from their ventures.

Definitely one to watch though!

I enjoyed your article about the social networks. We at CoolWorks.com are doing our best to get out there and see what the 'kids' are doing. We even have our own Ning network, My CoolWorks (My.CoolWorks.com) to help connect us with our users.

It will be interesting to see where this goes in the future. For me, being a reformed HR person and now working for a job board, I know that it crosses that fine line of getting to know a little bit too much about one's candidates. However, the other part of my brain thinks that if they're willing to put it out there then they should accept the consequences if it's not quite appropriate.

Thanks for your thoughts.
