Not having done any recruiting much less candidate profiling along your lines I should not even have entertained the thought of responding to your article.Having said that in no way am I even remotely in disagreement with your viewpoints which are the results of accumulation of years of practical insights in this Industry. Also you have given the pros and cons as to in which situations this may be right or wrong.

What I would like to say, however, is that for every job in which persons have succeeded they have widely different personlities even if they are doing the same job say technical or admin or sales etc.No doubt they will have some positive common traits in them like being team players, overcoming obstacles etc, etc.

My main point is to request you to write part 2 of this article which details the positive common chararaceristics of high erformers vis a vis negative traits of low performers relating to various jobs.I think that many of us would look forward to it.

Yes,the article threw lot of light on the various aspects of profiling. Thanks!
