Kelly Services said Wednesday it will acquire Tempstaff Kelly, a joint venture originally created with Sony Corp. and Tempstaff, the second largest staffing company in Japan.

Tempstaff Kelly, headquartered in Tokyo, was the first ever tri-party staffing services company in Japan.

Launched in September 2005, Tempstaff Kelly provides general temporary employment, recruitment, HR consulting, and outsourcing services to Sony and other companies.

In October 2006, Kelly Services acquired Sony’s 40% ownership interest in Tempstaff Kelly.

Kelly said the purchase of Tempstaff Kelly continues its planned expansion into the Asia Pacific market.

This announcement follows last week’s news that Kelly had purchased Talents Technology, a European permanent placement and executive search firm, for an undisclosed sum.

Talents Technology has operations in the Czech Republic and Poland, and Kelly said this move increases its global presence to 32 countries and territories.
