Mr. McCord,

Although DISC and other Myer Briggs type indicators (MBTI) are useful for understanding different communication styles and can be helpful for mentoring, coaching and team building, these type of assessments are not designed for hiring purposes. It may pigeon-hole an applicant in to a communication type that has no relavance in predicting job performance.

The good news is that assessments to help predict job performance and determine 'job fit' are available. There are many reputable companies that could advise you on this matter (incuding our company at www.wfsinfo.com).

Good luck,

I began using DISC Personality Profiling about a year ago and have found it to be very helpful. So much, that I paid the big bucks to become Certified. I find using the assessments as a valuable tool in the final stages of the hiring process, but also in team building, selection and conducting annual reviews.
