<description>Among the hats I wear for my company is &#039;IT Manager&#039; and Webmaster.

I do not claim to have built a cool, up to date website for our firm, but it DOES do the job we need - it loads fast and is easy to navigate. Most of our visitors are job seekers, and most visit us during work hours.

Stats are so critical, as Kevin says. So much so, that I recommend people chose their webhosting based in part upon what stats programs are available.

Now, you can use Google Analytics, which is derived from Urchin stats (Google bought Urchin). They provide good metrics.

Personally, I really like the combination of Urchin stats for fine detail (it will even tell you what &#039;path&#039; your visitors followed through your site) and AWstats for a quick photo of the month&#039;s data.

I&#039;d be happy to discuss this offline with anyone.

Sincerely,

Jon Williamson IT Manager, Webmaster, Candidate Recruiting
