I believe that these Philly papers were a stronghold for CareerBuilder and losing them could have an impact on CB's business.

Monster is in full "spin" mode with their "new" strategy of "partnering with newspapers". Their PR team seems to have graduated from the Donald Trump school of self promotion. Everything they do is "the best" and "the greatest" and "the most innovative".

Overall a non-story that doesn't add any value for Monster's clients.

Great now you have two struggling dinosaurs moving towards the ice age together. Now employers will not just get 400 unqualified resumes from monster they will now get 800.
