Working for yourself or as an employee for an agency or even a corporate recruiter...it is the best job on earth. Even in the bad times.

Kevin great article, and agree with all. But would make one observation, to me the Recruiter of today and most definatly tomorrow will have to be a 'Marketeer'. If you look at the key functions/tasks/competancies of this department it is identical to those the recruiter needs.
Identify the need, identify the audience, area the comms channels, agree the messaging/values/creativity, attract, manage a relationship, close, store data, re-engage with the 'prospect' and so the cycle starts again.

This 'should' be how recruiter handle the whole 'candidate' experience, prefer this term to process, to numbing.
