Dave:

This is a great article and right on target. In order to maintain any global competitiveness, organizations need to be constantly trolling for the 'next big idea.' The recruiter or recruiting team which does so should be both recognized for that and amply rewarded. However, most organizations are so clueless about that concept and if someone visionary is brought on board, they most often have to fight for resources and team members to implement the ideas. Oftentimes, it's one brilliant idea, coupled with a small lunchtime project team, to build a real business.

Thanks for a great article which encapsulates some of what I have been advocating for years.
